TrailMarked is a startup that offers certification for outdoor achievements. We provide tangible recognition for personal outdoor accomplishments, fostering a community of outdoor enthusiasts. Our goal is to celebrate and commemorate your outdoor milestones, turning your sweat and determination into something you can proudly display.

In doing so, we aim to raise crucial funds for projects that protect the outdoors and the people that enjoy it. We want to build a community of people who care, and provide sustainable investment into the organisations we rely on to keep the outdoors accessible and protected.
To get certified, you'll need to create a TrailMarked account, choose the achievement you want to be certified for, and submit evidence of your accomplishment. This evidence typically includes photos, GPS tracks, or any other relevant information that proves you've completed the challenge.
Upon certification, you'll receive several benefits:

A tangible, embroidered patch commemorating your accomplishment

A physical certificate officially recognising the authenticity of your achievement

An official digital certificate for easy sharing

A virtual badge to display on the TrailMarked Platform

Access to exclusive TrailMarked community groups

The physical certificate and patch are perfect for displaying or wearing, allowing you to showcase your outdoor achievements in the real world. These tangible mementos serve as lasting reminders of your accomplishments and can be proudly displayed or collected.
After you submit your evidence, our team of expert verifiers will review your application. We assess each submission carefully to ensure the integrity of our certifications. If we need any additional information, we'll contact you. Once verified, you'll receive your official TrailMarked certification.
We release and process applications in waves to ensure thorough and fair assessments. You'll be notified as your application progresses, but please allow up to 10-14 business days for the entire process. We are a small team and are hoping to improve this time as we grow.
Yes, there is a fee for certification. Currently, the cost for a single certification is £21.99. This fee covers the verification process, your physical certificate, embroidered patch, and digital assets. It includes production, fulfilment and postage, along with a margin to provide 15% of it's profits to projects that look after our environment. In the future, we plan to introduce a subscription service for those who want to certify multiple achievements. This will provide a more cost-effective option for our most active members. We'll be implementing this subscription model once we've expanded our range of verifiable achievements. We're also considering introducing tiered membership plans (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and bundle pricing for multiple certifications to offer more flexibility and value to our community. Please note that we will offer a free tier with limited access to introduce you to our community and give you a taste of what TrailMarked has to offer.
Yes! We understand that many outdoor enthusiasts have accomplished great things before discovering TrailMarked. As long as you can provide sufficient evidence of your past achievement, we'd be happy to certify it.
